How to cut shipping if you're a small Shopify Brand

Most brands we work with save 8–25% using a “layered” approach:

And the “layering” approach works best:

  1. Baseline → Use a Shopify app so you can compare shippers.

  2. Add-Ons → Get your own shipper or group account. These often beat Shopify apps and 3PLs.

  3. Regionals → Add regional carriers. Pricing is even better. They don’t cover 100%, but they’ll cut overall costs. If you can, stack group rates here too.

  4. Reviews → Audit your packaging, rate cards, and invoices. Errors here easily add up to six figures. Don’t expect your 3PL or carrier to flag them. You have to do it yourself.

To pull this off, you’ll need either your own warehouse or a 3PL that actually cares about your margin.

Get this dialed. Increase profit. And use that to fuel growth.
